In Blink Malcolm Gladwell says that sometimes all we need to determine the success of a marriage or identify a bird soaring one hundred feet in the air is a “Thin Slice.” Somehow our unconscious self is capable of advanced calculations that our conscious self can not understand.
Within hearing two minutes of a professor’s lecture the experienced student is capable of determining whether or not the professor is good a good one or a bad one.
