Top idea Michael, I was speaking to a North African guy in the gym yesterday who was baffled that in the UK we will smile at each other while we perform excercises badly. I pointed out to him that while I was socially comfortable to approach someone, I didn't want to try to instruct them only for them to be more knowledgeable as I have only been training for 12 months or so.

His response was that he would be delighted in this situation as they would be able to instruct him.

I think if you undertake a project like this you might come under some flak, irrespective of how much grace you ask for. Please don't be dissuaded; I love the idea and think that University (in the UK) should encourage multi-disciplinary learning much more, as is the prevalent in Germany (I'm told).

I'd be happy to write a few guest pieces on mechanics if you are interested!
